Big news!
After almost five years of living, studying, and working in Florence, Italy, I have made the decision to move back home to the United States. It was a tough decision to leave this beautiful city which I’ve come to consider a second home, but there is much that awaits me back in America and I am very excited for this new chapter.

Allow me to share some new things: an upcoming New York exhibition, a portrait sculpture, a marble carving, a self portrait painting, 3d reductions, and a secret tease…

ARC Salon Exhibition in NY!

The Art Renewal Center presents nearly 100 award winning works from 20 countries from the 17th/18th International ARC Salons, hosted by Sotheby’s New York: 945 Madison Ave, New York, NY 10021, from July 17 - July 27, 2026. Having received over 8,500 entries from 87 countries over the course of the 17th and 18th competitions, the International ARC Salon is the largest, most influential, and far-reaching competition for Contemporary Realism in the world.

My sculpture “The Garden” received two first place prizes, both in the Sculpture and the Fully From Life categories, and will be on display during the exhibition.

Saint John Henry Newman

I have recently completed this new portrait bust of Saint John Henry Newman! This is my fourth bust of a saint in recent time. All come from the same commissioned source, Benedictine College, delegated to me through Cody Swanson. All four are set to be carved in marble (some already finished) and delivered to the new classical library on campus. It was an honor to work on this project and I cannot wait to see it in the final home!

Marble carving

This is my copy (or, artistic reinterpretation) of Gaetano Cellini’s Portrait of a Girl. Cellini was a master 19th century Italian sculptor who left behind a beautiful body of work, including this piece. In order to learn the techniques of marble carving I decided to make a copy of a great work of the past. I used a traditional, artisanal method called Pointing, whereby you transfer points in space using a special tool called La Machinetta, allowing you to know exactly how deep to carve. I decided to leave some areas “Non-finito” (unfinished) as though the portrait is emerging from the block.

I think it was a successful first exploration into marble carving! I hope to do more.

3D Printed reductions

I have had three of my sculptures 3D scanned and 3D printed! Bellow are images of those prints. I will be making molds of these and producing bronze casts of them. Please let me know if any of these would be of interest to you! I don’t have a firm price on them yet, but certainly more affordable than the full scale works! I am excited to offer this smaller and more accessible option.

Self Portrait at 28

I picked the paint brush back up! It has been a little while since I painted but felt inspired to try my hand at a self portrait. I had a talented painter friend walk me through the steps, focusing specially on a method Rembrandt was known for, utilizing transparency, layers, and glazes. I couldn’t get a very good photo but I’ll get a better one once it’s varnished.

A Teaser….

I cannot say quite yet what is happening, but there is something very exciting in the works. It involves my Sculpture of San Miniato, the church of San Miniato al Monte, and Florence…

Three years at the Florence Academy, one year teaching as a Graduate in Resident, and now one year working independently and for Cody Swanson. Now it’s time for the next step as I relocate back to the United States. Thank you for sharing this journey!
